Going to Smile Anyway…

I decided it didn’t matter how I was feeling, when asked I will always say, “I am good,” because I know words are powerful and I am blessed.

Matthew 12:37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” NIV (New International Version Bible)

As I go over today invents, I am smiling, because I know what I have to do – to hold onto this Smile….

Will Keep on Trying..

Trying and trying again is getting old, but I am way too stubborn to give up. I kept on seeing things to do in Canva, so I thought I would try something new, and making “thank you cards” didn’t seem too hard.

I thought of 15 ways to say, “thank you,” but I wished I hadn’t wasted my time, because I couldn’t do the next part.

The steps were simple enough:

  1. Create a free account on canva, select a free design, and then add your message. Save your creation on pdf
  2. Create a free printify account and upload your design.

This didn’t work for me, no matter the times I tried, and I didn’t bother to create a free Etsy account. Okay, this didn’t work, but I am not going to stop until I find something that will work.

I am BEYOND TIRED OF WORKING A FULL TIME JOB for a company that doesn’t know who I AM!!!!!

My New Stitch

Photo by Castorly Stock on Pexels.com

I love to crochet. There’s no surprise there. If I am sitting, most likely I am crocheting.  My favorite stitch is the granny square. Although I don’t like stitching them together. I will post a few videos from my favorite crafters that show how to crochet granny squares.
I was working on my red blanket (late last night).  I had an idea in my head, but somehow it wasn’t coming out as I thought it would. I did a few different stitches into one and will end it with a simple granny stitch until there isn’t any yarn left. Oh, this is the fourth design for these colors. I decided to not frog the last project, turning it into a few balls of yarn, and just keep crocheting.

I found a better way to start my granny square… A standing single stitch takes the small bump away.  I came up with this thought last night, because there was little light in my room. (Oh, I do not recommend crocheting with only light coming from the TV) When I got to a corner, I could barely see that third stitch, so when I turned my project around and was getting ready to make that slip stitch. I stopped. I was thinking can I do a standing crochet stitch? I was way too tired to keep thinking about this, so I just did it. I was so happy, because it worked.

** sidenote: I tried to find a video of a standing crochet stitch and there are way too many. I saved some, but they are lost in my group list as well.

I didn’t see what I did, so maybe it wasn’t a standing stitch after all. No, it was my standing stitch, and one day I will start my own YouTube channel….

My standing stitch goes like this: a single stitch, turned, another single stitch, I only pulled through one stitch, now there is two stitches on my hook, I pulled through one stitch, and now there are two stitches left, pulling through those two to make the height of a double crochet stitch.

I had to make myself stop adding some of my favorite granny squares and when I do stitch my squares together, I did Ms. Lyza Walters’ stitch.

I am so over typing about crocheting, because I really want to crochet in the daytime with enough light to see every stitch.

Not Stopping….

I wonder why people don’t believe in putting a leash on their dog. I decided to start my “new me” by walking in the morning before the sun makes it too hot to walk. It wasn’t an easy walk, because I am walking with a boot on my left leg. I was taking each step slow and steadily, as I listened to my music walking down the street, and then it came to a sudden stop when I heard the barkering.

Okay, my walk was cut short, but I did a chair aerobics routine and called it a day. I had planned on dancing before I called it a night, but tired eyes closed before I could set that planned into action.

That dog may have cut my walk short, I wasn’t going to let it cut my workout short, because I will be a better me. I also decided to write down my journey.
