Not Again

Not ready to put away my granny square blanket. I have a color pattern already in my head and a smile thinking about how it’s going to look.

I got up to get a cup of tea. I just laid my project down and now my needle is gone.

I will stay calm. I will enjoy my green tea as I listen to the rain, and then I will start crocheting once again.

A Lazy Day Crocheting …

Photo by Ksenia Chernaya on Pexels.com

A lazy day crocheting. I thought I was going to get some new color yarn, but Walmart  was a let down. I am not going to give up on finding more yarn at another store or even online.

I found this red heart yarn. I was just looking at the colors. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed it was, “The granny all in one square.” It is a good thing I wasn’t planning on doing granny squares, because it wasn’t going to work anway.

I didn’t know how I was going to reuse the dark grey yarn after taking it from a different project. The grey was too dark, with the light pink, but I believe these new colors will blind together much better. The sun is still out and I am still enjoying my day off. Time to get back to my new grey project. I am still thinking about adding a little more black in it, so it won’t be so light. Only time will tell about that add on.

By My Faith Alone…

I keep wondering how many times I have to get up and start again? I seem to be falling more than I am standing strong. I am not stressing, because there is a difference between falling and laying down.

Proverbs 24:16 NIV  [16] for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.    https://bible.com/bible/111/pro.24.16.NIV

Is it strength or just being stubborn? Is it worth trying? It’s new, why not go to school, and do this? Didn’t you try something last month? How many books did you sell? Are you sure you want to _

James 1:6 NIV [6] But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. https://bible.com/bible/111/jas.1.6.NIV

Matthew 14:31 NIV [31] Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”  https://bible.com/bible/111/mat.14.31.NIV

I am beyond tired of listening to people’s doubts and trying to make them understand I am more than what they see. I don’t have to answer them or anyone. I know who I am and who is really on my side.

There are times when I want to talk to someone, willing someone to believe in me, but I realize not everyone can or will be there for you. It may look like I am standing alone, but I know who is really on my side.

My Composition Book

Photo by Max Vakhtbovycn on Pexels.com

My first thought was to start writing about my dream house. I have been thinking a lot about having a house, a cat, and a backyard where family and friends can gather for a cup of coffee or tea.

I enjoy watching shows about tiny houses and I know I can not live in a tiny house, but I have gotten a lot of good ideas on how I would like my first house to look like.

My first thought was to write them down, because just thinking about it isn’t good enough. I even bought a special book. I got this book on Amazon.

I couldn’t finish writing down my dream house. There were a lot of ideas, the more I thought about it, the more I actually wanted to see them, and not just in words.

I thought there should be a free app where I can actually see my dream house online. I researched a few sites and was about to download one, but I thought it would be best to read more about it before I download it onto my computer.

The app that I chose took too much information and I decided it wasn’t a good idea. I will go back to my original plan and start writing it down. Sometimes it’s good to stick with your first plan.

Once I have all of my ideas on paper, maybe one day I can get them to the right people, and they can help me set this dream free. Having a dream is wonderful and working on setting it free is great motivation to not give up.

My Last List…

Photo by Ivan Samkov on Pexels.com

I am done going around in circles. Circles are round with no end to them. It’s like going through your day like a run on sentence. You tell yourself you want change, but you are not doing anything to make that happen. You dream of a big picture  and have an idea on how to turn that picture into reality.

It starts off being honest with yourself. You know you have no reason to be afraid.

Psalms 23:4 NIV  [4] Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV [6] Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  https://bible.com/bible/111/deu.31.6.NIV

I am taking a closer look at who I am and who I know I can be. I am going into a new stage in my life my way. I am in charge of my tomorrow, if I have a tomorrow, because no one knows when we will take our last breath. The only thing we can do is live our life the best way we can.

I enjoy crocheting. The idea of turning a skein of yarn into  blankets, hats, scarves, and countless other objects. I want to learn to do more, because I can imagine crochet items like curtains, rugs, dresses, and the list goes on.

People are all amazed when  they see me crocheting and I just smile and say thank you when I get a compliment on whatever I am working on. There have  been a few people who asked me to teach them how to crochet. I never thought about it, but I agreed.

Then reality hit me. Teaching and doing are two different things. I’ve watched crochet tutorials on youtube. There are a lot I can follow and a lot I cannot. There are some with words and music playing in the background. Those are okay, but sometimes the words are too small to read across the screen. There are a few that are not in English or ones with a heavy accent and I still cannot understand what is being said.

The videos I dislike the most are the ones that don’t show what they are doing, just talking about them, and That’s not doing me any good. If I see a picture, I want to learn how to do it, and what’s the point of posting a video if you are not going to show how it’s done.

I came across this video and…..

How to Become a Certified Crochet Instructor

Elise Rose Crochet   Sep 24, 2019  #crocheting #crochet #howtocrochet Becoming a Certified Crochet Instructor takes time and effort, but it is totally worth it. In this video, I share the details of my journey, why you might want to enroll, and the costs involved. {}

I asked Google a question about getting a certificate to teach crochet and I clicked on this…..

{} https://americancrochetassociation.blog/ Crochet Certification – Everything You Need to Know to Start Teaching | Stop Scrolling, Start Learning {}

It is true you don’t need to have a certificate to teach crochet or knitting, but I would like to teach my craft with a better understanding and clear enough for others to follow along. I would like to prove one can crochet anywhere and it isn’t hard to do.

I have taken the first steps. Yes, I have started a new list and I WILL  FOLLOW THROUGH this time. THIS WILL BE MY LAST LIST. I have started with a monthly planner. Well, it’s time to crochet.
