What Plans?

I had started crossing off a list of things I had wanted to do after I got home from work. I knew what I needed to do and the reasons behind each move, and all was good until –

  1. My eyes don’t want to stay focused.

I am amazed that I am moving, because I haven’t eaten anything (other than a banana and a few animal crackers) in over ten hours. I know I should eat, but I want to go to sleep.

I also want to work on my book. I know I am going to put that on hold, because I need to be at my best, for my best work, and tired eyes just won’t do.

I wonder how many plans have gone astray because your body doesn’t want to do what you want it to. It’s cool, I say, “listen to your body and complete your plan another day.”
