~ Doing things your way is sometimes the best way. I have no fear, because God is on my side. I wonder why it took me over 40 years to realize that not everyone is on my side. It doesn’t matter is they are your blood or someone whom you call a friend. Then again the title family and friend can be dropped down to an associate. They may know your name, but they don’t know you.

~ I am trying to move forward, but I keep going back to “no fear,” and trying to remember where I read it (without going online to find it).  Okay, I went to the back of my (NIV New International Version) Bible to the concordance, but I knew I read it. The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1 NIV

I got up with a plan and I am following through to keeping my word. This time it’s to myself (to be a better me) and I’m not letting other voices in my thoughts. Yesterday as I was playing a game online, an app popped up, and I surprised myself by reading it. I really do not like drinking water, but I know its good for me. Anyway, this app sends a reminder to drink 10oz of water throughout the day. I actually drank half a bottle of water (16oz) with meds and no I normally just drank enough to get the pill down.

That was the old me. I have already walked 30mins and drank 20 ounces of water before 7:30am. I was told where I should walk, when I should go out, how much water I drank, and even what I should or shouldn’t be eating. I just stopped talking and tune them out, because I am free to be me.

I am walking within the comforts of my apartment, because I know my health better than anyone. A person with a bad back (a temporary set back, because by Jesus’s blood I know I am healed) one has to put in the work to improve themselves and I Will be safe doing it.

One can improve themselves in so many ways, but first they have to have a dream and the strength to follow through. One has to understand some may say they want you to move forward, and although you are hearing the right words, but if you listen closely they’re words have no truth in them.

I am going to move forward and no one will stop me from my goal. I have told young adults to find a dream and work hard to set it free, because in order for you to move forward you cannot stay where you are at and no one is going to do it for you. Have faith in yourself as He has given you all you need to be a better you..

Making a List…

20190906_113458-COLLAGE

Having a plan in one’s head is a start and making a list of things to do.

Following through on that plan is a totally different story.

Do you remember the plan and actually do the things on that imaginary list?

Have you forgotten that list altogether or your mind has temporarily gone blink. Meaning, you know you have to do something, “what is it” is the question you keep asking yourself?

Taking a deep breath and start going over what you normally do every day.

If that doesn’t work?

Relax with your favorite hot beverage.

Coffee with flavored creamer for me.

(Laughing)  I am or was laughing was, because as I was preparing for my coffee. I went towards my coffee stand and notice a cute cup I never drank out of.

Someone once asked me, “I bet you have a lot of cups?” I told them “no,” but it’s nice to have more than one. Who knows when you are going to have a friend or two come over.

I am ready for coffee as well as tea.

I have always wanted a coffee bar.

This is as close as I can get

a coffee bar.

I remembered what was planned

the night before and only done one thing.

Well, my eyes are open, and after I enjoy watching “The Real”.

  • Getting into the Word (Bible)
  • Going online to find my real job
  • Work on my blanket (crocheting)
  • Work on my cross stitch gift
  • If I can get inspired I will work on my book.

As I continue to type this thought, I realized I am keeping my word by working on my blog, and posting at least twice a week. (Smile) 😃

Keeping One’s Word

20190903_100108

Waking up with the taste of tomatoes is a little different from the bacon and eggs (If one eats pork, which I no longer eat).

What to make a quick omelette with cheese and tomatoes and some toast on the side.

Then you might as well as fic some grits.

That all sounded like a good idea until I walked into the kitchen.

A change of plans, after I opened the patio blinds, followed by the door, and it isn’t too hot today.

Today would be a great day to enjoy

my coffee and a book.

If I eat a big breakfast

I would just want to go to sleep.

Boiled some water for a little pasta

and lunch became breakfast.

I didn’t remember to take a picture until all of the food was gone.

Okay, I can get my coffee ready.

Nope, because I remembered the bugs.

I did put on some bug spray as I am working on this story on the patio and plan on getting into the Word next.

I am smiling, because I am keeping my word to myself:

  1. Studying the Word more my way. Which is to write everything down and ask questions when needed.
  2. Enjoying time on the patio.
  3. Drinking more water and  exercising.
  4. Staying positive.
  5. Believing in myself.

More Than one Book

IMG_20190901_170453

As I was sitting in service this morning and following what the pastor was saying. I had to make myself move forward and listen to what was being said and not what was said. My mind didn’t wonder from the Word, but got stuck on one point of the message.

I made sure I underlined those two points, with a different color ink pen, because it will be easier to go back to it. I also like to highlight something meaningful to me or a strong point of view.

The two words that caught my attention was “hinder,” and “delay.” I couldn’t get home fast enough to further my research on each word.

My big Bible (which I read at home – a little too heavy to carry every day) “The Quest Study Bible” New International version. In the back of the book it has s concordance and that’s where I found the word “hinder.”

I was going to just list the books & chapters, but then I realize they may not be what I am talking about, so I am going to stop here –

Hinder = 1st Sam 14:6 Nothing can h the Lord

(Its funny, because I am studying the book of 1st Samuel. I am on ch12). I read what was in the back of the book and was lost, turning to the actual page I did see the word “hinder”  and I agree that the Lord cannot be stopped, but the word “perhaps” I feel its saying maybe? I might be wrong?

“Let’s go across to the outpost of those pagans,” Jonathan said to his armor bearer. “Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord . He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!”

1 Samuel 14:6 NLT

https://bible.com/bible/116/1sa.14.6.NLT

I am not seeing anything different and need to move forward before I get stuck here. Going back to the book it says: Matt 19:14 come to me, and do not h them

Jesus is talking about the children He knew the Word was and is for the young and young at heart. (since I am now 50 – I don’t like the word old) The year is 2019, but I feel some of the things that was a household stable like: take school clothes off as soon as you get home and into play clothes (or indoor clothes that wasn’t good enough to go out in about in), do your homework and chores. If there is time, you can go outside, but when those street lights come on ( if you lived in a city like me) be back home. On Sunday we had Sunday school and service. Once we got home and changed clothes we would talk about what we learned at the service that day. (or what you remember while you were awake. Well, if you were 5 years old)

Oops I trailed off.

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”

Matthew 19:14 NLT

https://bible.com/bible/116/mat.19.14.NLT

In my book it says, ” do not hinder them-

I found a few more places to find the word “hinder” online: Jobs 33:11. #22:16, Gen 23:6, 1st Cor 9:12, Job 12:18, John 6:46, Matt 10:24

are just a few chapters

Now the word “delay” I couldn’t find in my Bible. I found it online.

I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.

Psalms 119:60 NLT

https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.119.60.NLT – “delay = without stopping”

“When you make a vow to the Lord your God, be prompt in fulfilling whatever you promised him. For the Lord your God demands that you promptly fulfill all your vows, or you will be guilty of sin.

Deuteronomy 23:21 NLT

https://bible.com/bible/116/deu.23.21.NLT – the word “delay” isn’t here, but I am thinking the word “prompt” means moving fast.

But Jesus said, “No more of this.” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.

Luke 22:51 NLT

https://bible.com/bible/116/luk.22.51.NLT – once again the word “delay” isn’t here, but its meaning us “no more -”

I carry The Amplified version of the Bible and I didn’t find either word hinder or delay in it. Well, It could be it, but my Bible doesn’t have  index subject or a concordance at the end of it. I am sure it is in the Bible and “no” I am not looking for it.

Someone once asked me why I had so  many books and use more than one color ink? My mind cannot focus on one thing for long and different colors keeps my mind from wandering too far from whatever I am working on. Each person is different so we all have our own special way of learning. You do what’s best for you and I will do the same.

What to Do…

20190823_185238

I know I haven’t worked on my book in maybe a month or close to it. I think about the story as it grows stronger every day. It really doesn’t matter until I put it down on paper.

When the storm came, I couldn’t make up my mind was I going to work on my blanket or my book. I enjoy crocheting and plan on selling them as well as setting my dreams free to become a writer.

I had to go with working on my blanket, because I wanted to enjoy the storm as I was sitting on the patio. I could watch the rain and crochet at the same time.

I can and will work on the next series of books at a later time. The sun is slowly maybe behind a few clouds right now, but enough light to write down a thought or two.

Then again if I don’t get a cup of coffee I am not going to be able to start my day at all. So, I will stop this short story, and enjoy my breakfast now. Just thinking about coffee has me smiling…

Closing my eyes, I just remembered another project, and I want to get it completed ASAP. I am working on a cross stitch picture of birds as a gift. I normally give gifts as a surprise, but I didn’t know her favorite colors so I had to ask, but that’s all she knows about it. It’s going to be colorful and hope she likes it..

Well, I am just adding on here, so this is The End!
